Recently I went to Swell Sculpture Festival in Currumbin, Queensland.
This amazing statue made me think about how many people are carrying so much emotional baggage.
Are you carrying the world on your shoulders?
A ton of emotional baggage?
Are you holding onto fear, shame, regret, guilt, sadness, anger, jealousy, stress and traumas?
All of these emotions are from your past, yet you just can’t let go, so you hold onto this dead weight for all it’s worth.
Either burying it deep down inside like a toxic cesspool or talking about it at every opportunity, grabbing sympathy and attention from it.
In counselling terms, we call this the “beach ball effect”. You can easily hold it down when you are younger, but what you are carrying is toxic garbage, therefore you will attract more toxic garbage, so the beach ball you are holding down gets fuller and heavier as each year passes.
Every so often, someone will trigger you and up comes the beach ball, you react and then you suck it back down again, getting fuller by the minute.
As the years go by, you are trying so hard to ignore this growing beach ball with alcohol, food, television, cigarettes, spending money you don’t have, but deep down you are drowning in your own negativity!
Does this sound like you? If you continue, the only person you are hurting is yourself!
You can continue to hide, or blame the world, or you can turn around and face yourself head on and do the work to heal and let go.
Aren’t you worth having a happier, freer version of your yourself?
This is called “Emotional Freedom”

Don’t waste any more time dragging this weight!
