𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 are 3 starting 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐬 to 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 depression around.
Many people desperately want to work on their depression but start and give up.
👉 The doctor advises medication, which may not make them feel better.
👉 The psychologist they may not feel a connection to.
👉 They procrastinate and stay playing the victim.
But it is important to not give up!
There are 3 steps to commit to:
You need to CREATE a desire for change. It is key to any kind of change, it is important that you don’t want to stay this way! You have a strong enough desire to find the right way for you to change.
Ask yourself questions that strengthens this desire.
“Why do I desire this?”
“What has stopped me in the past from getting help?”
“Do I really want this enough and why am I tired of feeling this way”
“How did I get pleasure from staying this way?”
We want to build a strong foundation of the NEED to change.
So many people will get to this step and STOP!
You need to prepare for change.
Now is the time to look at options available to you?
Do you want 1 on 1 or an online program?
How much time and budget?
What time do you have to commit to the process?
In looking for the right person, don’t be afraid to ask the questions, eg qualifications/experience etc. You want to find the right fit for your personality.
𝟯. TAKING ACTION & REPETITION
Make the commitment and do the work!
Put aside time each day to work on yourself.
Be honest and repeat the process working daily.
Open up to the therapist as well as yourself. This helps them to fully understand and help you.
Don’t get negative. Remember, you have had this issue for a while, so it will take time to turn around.
Enjoy the journey!
There are other elements in the process, but start with these steps and put one foot in front of the other every day
Remember to have fun getting to know yourself.
